In vitro safety pharmacology profiling is an essential tool for successful drug development. From High Throughput Screening to specific assays to understand drug effects, in vitro techniques are expanding in parallel with computer/automation development. Yet in vitro technologies are also expanding to address specific issues in drug development. Setups may be complex, however the overall quality of results, the ability to bring predictive and repetitive results are so important features that in vitro techniques are now routinely used in early safety pharmacology as well as in general pharmacology and safety studies.
NOTOCORD-hem software is compatible with most standard hardware equipment as well as the most sophisticated one such as for the recording of 64 electrograms to be analyzed simultaneously. NOTOCORD-hem includes specific analysis and display tools for main in vitro protocols.

Tissue contraction studies
Collecting organ’s tension signals from 8, 16 or more channels is simple. NOTOCORD-hem can be interfaced with most of organ baths systems using general purpose glassware to small form factors systems produced by DMT (Denmark). Allowing researchers to quickly see responses after each drug dose while keeping flexibility in experimental protocol is of highest importance. Control of dosing can be made using a valve controller from the software. Get your area under curve and deltas simply and efficiently where you want, when you want using STT30a and PUL30a analysis modules for assessing contraction characteristics in isolated tissue studies.
Sudden changes in the protocol can easily be dealt with NOTOCORD-hem Excel™ unique and powerful interface that allows scientists to get the final report without struggling with rigid software.

Cardiac studies
In vitro measurement of action potentials and ionic currents has become essential in the process of assessment of the effect of a drug candidate on ventricular repolarization and proarrhythmic risk [1,2]. In vitro electrophysiology assays are either based on single cell (isolated myocyte) or multicellular preparations, such as in Purkinje fiber or Langendorff isolated heart. NOTOCORD-hem includes a series of analysis modules for measuring action potential characteristics, including durations, resting potential and phase 1 amplitude (APA30/31a) computation, refractory period (APA10r). By using advanced high resolution data acquisition devices as TMS PORTI or REFA, NOTOCORD-hem can combine MAP, ECG, flow, pressures, video signals to perform state of the art isolated heart assays.

Central Nervous System Action Potential studies
NOTOCORD has a growing interest in providing solutions for Safety as well as Discovery CNS studies including recording and analysis of neuronal action potentials (ARN30a). Specific acquisition servers and analysis tools may be developed upon request.
